The Grantham Optimist Club's Commemorative Tree & Bench Program offers a meaningful way to honour the memory of a loved one or celebrate the milestones of family and friends. Whether recognizing a life well lived or marking a special occasion, dedicating a tree or bench in our park creates a lasting tribute that will be appreciated for generations to come.
Why Donate a Tree or Bench?
A commemorative tree is a living legacy that enhances the beauty of our park, supports a healthy environment, and contributes to a greener future. Trees help offset carbon emissions, reduce noise and air pollution, and provide habitat for local wildlife.
A memorial bench offers a place for reflection and remembrance, and serves as a tribute to someone special. With each bench placed, a memory is preserved within our park.
Trees or benches may be dedicated in honour or memory of someone, or to celebrate important life events such as:
- Births & Birthdays
- Graduations
- Marriages & Anniversaries
- Retirements
- In memoriams
- Other personal or community milestones
Whatever the occasion, the legacy is yours to give.
Program Details
- Tree Plantings occur each Spring
- Bench Installations take place in both Spring and Fall
- Applications are accepted year-round
