With a bustling 17 tables in attendance, the Grantham Optimist Club was very proud to host our Annual Spring Trivia Night.
With pizza, drinks, jokes, and laughter, the night was a positive success both in spirit and purpose.
We wish to extend a big thank you for all the participants and the student volunteers that came out. Both helping with the event and aiding in our fundraiser that allows us to put on future youth events.
Braving the very late chilly weather and icy rain, Grantham Optimist Club held their annual community Spring Fertilizer Sale.
Accepting walk-ins and pre-orders we had eight (8) variations of pesticide free per-bagged fertilizer. We appreciated the positivity and smiles from the community that weekend enduring the poor weather with us.
While running between the raindrops, the club was able to raise some funds for our upcoming youth events, as well as give some community member's gardens a healthy start.
Each year, members of Grantham Optimist Club are pleased to host a gala dinner to celebrate the accomplishments of the many young people who participate in our programs.
This year’s dinner was held at the Grantham Optimist Youth Centre with family and friends gathering together to enjoy a meal prepared by the Club and to hear highlights of and meet young folks from our programs.
This gala continues to be both an inspiration to the Club to be the best “Friends of Youth” we can and a wonderful experience engaging both our wonderful community and the Club’s youth.

The Meridian Grande Parade hosts an outstanding procession of marching bands, drum corps, community groups, majorettes, floats and amazing performances, attracting upwards of 100,000 spectators to the streets of downtown St. Catharines each year. "
The Beamsville and District Lions Club held the First Annual Lincoln Soap Box Derby.
Racers got to build their own cars and race friends for the chance to compete in the ‘The International Soap Box Derby®’.
This years Annual Fall Trivia Night was not only an enjoyment, but also a fundraising success; funding budgets for a large set of upcoming scheduled youth actives around the Club.
This year, we also raised funds to donate 1000$ to a family in need, provided to us from Community Care. Supplying needed food, supplies, and gifts over the upcoming holidays.
We would like to extend a big "thank you" to our 180 Trivia fans in attendance for helping make it a fund wonderful night, Bill Anderson from Performance Auto for their door prize donations, and all the Grantham Optimist volunteers helping to make the night run.
The Grantham Optimist Club is a proud participant in Community Care's Annual Holiday "Adopt-a-Family" program.
Similar to years past, the Grantham Optimist Club has raised 1000$ to help a family in need this holiday season through donations of food, gifts, and supplies to Community Care.
Moreover, along with being a location for Community Care's holiday food drive barrel, we also proudly received canned good donations at our recent community events and membership meetings all to be donated to their food program.
The Grantham Optimist Club holds an annual Holiday Turkey Draw as a community fundraiser around local businesses and organizations.
Tickets are sold in booklets with a chance to draw for a large turkey for the upcoming holiday. Many of our generous community winners choose to donate their turkey to local families in need or share it with family and friends during the upcoming holiday meals.
Funds raised from this fundraiser go to benefit our annual youth activities, such as the Grantham Optimist Scholarship, our C.O.L.S. Program, local 57th Scout Troop, and our Softball League, to name a few.
Grantham Optimist Club members proudly attended the St. Francis Secondary School Volunteer Recruitment Event to help some of the local high school students in completing their mandatory volunteer hours for graduation.
Our Club accepts volunteers for a wide range of our community activities and we hope to help by finding volunteer opportunities students will enjoy and might not have access to else where.

"The Grantham Optimist Club has contributed to the community in many ways by offering programs such as : softball, hockey, bike safety, public speaking, essay contests, and more.
In addition the Club gives out annual scholarships to deserving graduates from local high schools and more recently has partnered with the school board to be a community service partner to high-school students.
In celebration of our 60th anniversary, we have pledged to donate 25,000$ to the Children's Health Unit at the St. Catharines site of the Niagara Health System. These funds will be used to purchase vital patient care equipment and services."
